Invited talk: AI & Health Conference
On Friday June 2nd, I was invited to present at the AI & Health Conference 2023 (‘From paper to practice’). This full-day event was organised by the VU Campus Center in collaboration with Amsterdam Medical Data Science.
The session was called ‘AI for health monitoring and coaching’ chaired by dr. Stephanie van der Berg and I was joined by dr. Armağan Karahanoğlu and dr. Maryam Amir Haeri. I presented how eHealth technology has the potential to support people in their daily life, for example, as a means of prevention or for self-management in between visits with healthcare professionals. However, user engagement and personally relevant content are essential prerequisites for such tools to be effective. I explained how conversational agents can be used to provide engaging and interactive support, but that it is essential that their communication should be tailored to individual users.
